Our Nightly Game

Ryan and I have a very entertaining game we like to play. It's called "let's see where he landed." We love to see where Easton finally fell asleep. It is rarely in his bed on his pillow and almost always includes some sort of toy.  I've posted about this before when we found Easton half in our linen closet and half out. Tonight, we had a FANTASTIC suprise as we headed up the stairs. Seriously, look at his feet. It's like he was mid-climb and just collapsed!! I am so smitten by this little 4 year old. So blessed to be his mama!

The Big Day!!!

The first day of school has arrived!! It has been such a great summer for us Hansens but the boys have been so excited for school to start too. Oakley is a big first grader this year and is going to a new elementary school. By all accounts it "rocks"! His best buddies are there and he got a great teacher. Who could ask for more?  Easton started his last year of preschool too. This is a bit of a situation, actually. We put him in a peer model program in the elementary school but I don't think it is the best place for him. So he is headed back to his old preschool in a week and he is excited. His first day of school was full of excitement. He jumped out of bed, got dressed and wore his backpack pretty much all morning until it was his turn to go. He is such a good little kid with a LOVE for life and all things exciting.

The backpack is always a MAJOR part of heading back to school. Easton of course went straight for Batman and Ironman duo. Oakley, however, felt too grown up for super heros. He is afterall a 6 year old first grader. This made me a bit sad but I don't love character stuff so I didn't push it. We headed to the Oakley outlet and he was in Heaven! He doesn't quite understand why I keep insisting we put his name on it. "But Mom, it has my name all over it and on the inside." True.

This group of little boys makes my heart so happy! They have been friends
since birth, literally, and they are definetly attached to eachother. We are so blessed to have these and other great friends. Wish we had gotten a picture of all the kiddos! Here's to a GREAT year!!
